What is Equine Veterinary Physiotheraphy?
Veterinary physiotherapy can be defined as physical techniques for the treatment of the soft tissue injuries and muscle dysfunctions and working in conjunction with your vet, farrier, trainer and other equine professionals should help us achieve the horses full function and peak performance.
Weather it be rehabilitation from a injury, conformation issues or just general maintenance I strive to get your horse feeling 110%.
When first going to treat vespa, who had been a couple of weeks off the race track, he was very weak and showed a lot of asymmetry through the hindquarters. Too much stress had been put through the hamstrings causing them to overload and there was a lot of soreness surrounding the si joint and soreness through the lumbar region.
By working with owner and trainer this horse, who I treated on Monday after 4 weeks of strengthening, polework, exersices and working together as a team the results speak for itself. This is what happens when we work together to achieve the best results for the horse. Still a way to go but this horse is on the right track and is showing massive promise for the future!
